Future Opening: Optician/ophthalmic technician for ophthalmology office

Incredible Emerald Eye center, Inc is seeking a full time or Part time Optician !

We are a fast-paced independent Ophthalmology practice with fast-growing Optical on the site. We are excited to add a new Optician to our team.

This is a great opportunity for an ambitious person who can provide great quality of service, manage an optical dispensary, and can help to achieve high profitability.

General Accountabilities

- Perform vision acuity test, visual field, and ophthalmic diagnostic testing: autorefraction, OCT, and fundus photo.

• Measure customer for size of eyeglasses and coordinate frames with facial and eye measurements and optical prescription.
• May shape or reshape frames.
• Prepare work orders and instructions for grinding lenses and fabricating eyeglasses.
• Heat, shape, or bend plastic or metal frames to adjust eyeglasses to fit clients using pliers.
• Assist clients in selecting frames according to style and color and ensure that frames are coordinated with facial and eye measurements and optical prescriptions.
• Maintain records of customer prescriptions, work orders, and payments.

Job Qualifications

• Education: Associates Degree preferred, but vocational school is acceptable
• Experience: Appropriate certifications and/ or licensures with 1-2 years of on-the-job training or Apprenticeship

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient computer skills
• Excellent mathematical knowledge allow to monitor sale
• Ability to sell and satisfy customer's needs
• Knowledge of checking Vision plan eligibility and billing VSP, Eye Med, and others vision plans

SALARY : $18.00 to $25.00 per hour.
